By offering in-house alterations, we’re able to stay with you through every step of the journey—no handoffs, no explaining your vision twice, and no added stress. Our team already knows your gown, and your story, allowing your dress to be tailored with intention and care. As fittings unfold, our connection naturally grows, creating a seamless, supportive experience where you feel truly seen, understood, and confident from beginning to end.

Alterations fittings are done in store

Mondays 5:00pm to 9:00pm

Tuesdays 1:00pm to 9:00pm,

Wednesdays 5:00pm to 9:00pm.

We would like to see the bride every 4 weeks leading up to the wedding date.

We’re so excited to introduce the newest member of the Kimberly James Bridal alterations team, Jovan O’Connor! 🤍 Jovan brings her own unique eye, creativity, and passion for making every bride feel confident, beautiful, and completely herself.

We are so happy to have her as a member of the KJB team! She works with brides that have purchased gowns at Kimberly James Bridal & need a seamstress. She also takes on special projects such as mother of the bride/groom, personalized veils, gown reconstruction, & more! Questions about alterations?
Let us put you at ease with expert guidance and a personalized, seamless alterations experience.

  • Yes. All alterations are completed on-site by our professional seamstress and consultants, allowing for consistent care and a seamless experience from beginning to end.

  • We recommend beginning alterations about 3-4 months before your wedding date. This allows time for multiple fittings and any fine-tuning needed as your big day approaches. If your curious what that looks like for you check out the chart above!

  • Everybody is different! On average most brides require 2–3 fittings, depending on the gown and the level of customization needed. The duration of 3-4 months allows us to extend that amount if needed!

  • Please bring your wedding gown, the shoes you plan to wear on your wedding day (or something with the same height), and any undergarments or shapewear you intend to wear. These pieces help us ensure the most accurate fit and hem length.

  • That’s completely normal, and totally okay! Our timeline allows room for adjustments closer to your wedding day to ensure the best possible fit. We are here for you even after alterations if needed!

  • Absolutely. We’ll help you choose the bustle style that works best for your gown and show you how to use it during your fittings.

  • Alteration pricing varies based on the gown’s construction and the work required. A personalized estimate will be provided at your first fitting once our seamstress evaluates your dress.

  • Alterations payment is at your final alterations appointment when the gown is finished and fit to you! Our team will review pricing and payment details with you at your 2nd to last appointment to reassure your payment method before your final fitting!

  • I had the best experience with Kim and her seamstress Alessandra! I went to another bridal shop to get my dress then I had called in a panic because the original seamstress i was going to use was away the entire month before my wedding. They gave me peace of mind and helped make my dress absolutely perfect! would 1000% recommend them to anyone!

  • Alessandra, the seamstress, did a beautiful job on my dress. Lace straps tend to irritate my skin and cause my skin to turn red and itchy. I expressed my concerns and Alessandra was able to make a last minute alteration to the straps. I could hardly even feel the straps- they were so smooth. She even made hair scrunchies for my bridesmaids out of the extra material! The whole team is just wonderful to work with. Very professional, experts in the wedding industry, and respond promptly.
